In April 2016, Johnson & Vines partner Anthony Johnson was invited to participate in the inaugural Under 40 Forum at the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute on Petit Jean Mountain. Johnson, along with 27 other 40 Under 40 honorees from 2015, took part in the forum to discuss the challenges and opportunities Arkansas faces in attracting and retaining young talent.
The summit featured a keynote address by Governor Asa Hutchinson as well as a discussion by honorees who were invited to take part in the two-day forum.
From the press release:
The charge for Under 40 Leaders was to identify what is working in Arkansas’ favor and what serves as a burden when trying to convince young talent to consider moving to or remaining in our state.
The discussion led to specific recommendations for leaders across the state of Arkansas and focused on areas where improvement would likely promote efforts in talent recruitment and retention, including:
- Heightened focus on quality of living
- Cultivation and coordination of economic opportunity
- Expansion of educational opportunities
- Improved regionalism beyond Central and Northwest Arkansas
